But what if the girl and boy in a close relation are in love?
as recently, last year there was a case of Incest in france, where the girl and boy married and had two daughters too.
But the fact was, they didn't knew at start that they were brothers and sisters.
They fell in love first and then came to know that they were brothers and sisters. (as in childhood, they were separated because of divorce in their parents).
Many times in india love-relations and marriages are cursed and punished between same gotra etc...thats also wrong.
I don't think Incest is wrong. What wrong is Forced sex.
Any kind of force, or violence and aggression against girls consent is simply crime and must be opposed.

man is promiscuous by nature and not many can deny this fact (not with respect to siblings alone but generally anybody of the opposite sex). man is an animal. and thats the ultimate truth. he has the hunger to satisfy his sexual self. when i say hunger, i mean the same hunger, as we talk for food. without food as man is driven towards the extreme, for just a piece of bread, similarly, he is driven towrds satisfaction of self.
the relations, whatever u can think about are all unnatural. the only tangible form of any love or relation is sex. a brother holding a sister's hand, a father hugging a daughter, a child sucking mother's breast. all these are sexual. and everybody is sexually attracted to every other person.
now, how is it possible to tone down this hunger to manageable level. too difficult. societal pressure can help, but is rarely sufficent.

i think even the village sheela and the city girl Dia both suffer the same trauma and fear of hiding this atrocity deep somewhr within them...both prefer not to report..the reasons are clear...they fear being abandoned by the society ...they fear the pity ppl around them will show and die thinking of the disgust they will have to face for something they are not even responsible for....modernity is not in reprting a rape case ....modernity is in living with a head held high even after suffering injustice and fighting against it....women have been exploited by men at all times...her area of habitation does not deter men from this heinous act of rape....and neither does it undeter women to speak up...i remeber the case of a woman who reported rape in her village in an ngo in jaipur...she got the compensation and the man is behind bars for 4years...but the end result has been that she has been abandoned by the village..her husband is not allowed to work in the village and children havent got a seat in the school...she is courageuos and still living in the same village but still regrets complaining coz her whole family is suffering...if we are talking about change then what should be changed should be the outlook of the society...no women likes to been exploited but she dies each day suffocated by the strings of the society attached to her..its a vicious circle....i am too still looking for answers and solutions...can women ever be free??

this is a very interesting topic u brought up, however i would jus like to add i personally believe this is a topic that the general public at large is not qualified to comment knowledgeably about.
this belief of mine, stems from the conviction that this problem, where it exists, is one of a psychological nature and not one that can be classified as a social problem. In other words, (or in layman terms,) it's a mental problem and not a social problem. because of this i believe, society at large cannot act to tackle this problem in any effective way.
what can instead be achieved maybe, is more emphasis on reasearch into the root causes behind such problems.
however, in this case it should also be noted that, preaching more discussion in society on the issue might also achieve the negative affect of excessive social awareness amongst the dogmatic leading to social intolerance.
this might be dodgy in the context that it is a psychological problem which should be diagnosed & treated,....... & not lynched!

the anger in u is manifested by regular happening of such incidents..and sad part is what we get to know is just the tip of iceberg. but again, i agree with homer; not to generalise things. things like these happen with young boys too.its a reality if you dnt knw. but i guess the aim of ur blog is not to accuse but to find the way ahead. these things are so sensitive that sometime even when the family knows it, they try to hide it. i guess help lines and anonynous forum are one way out.and yes people who are caught should be given a punishment thats gonna serve a warning to all( i say a video on net of cutting off the penis of a guy who raped!) i guess that will be a good lesson.. but good try, keep up the social issues in the blog coming up.
